I find this TED Talk to be inspiring because it's letting people know whoever you are or where you come from you can learn anything you set your mind to. Though this is cliche there are many truths behind it. You may not be as good at something like math compared to your friend but this doesn't mean you never will be. Maybe you just need a different learning method that better suits you. Maybe they will be good at trigonometry but you'll be good at geometry. Maybe you can't figure out math to save your life but you exceed in another subject. But no matter how good or bad you are at something nothing but you is stopping you from learning it.

In 1989 NWA released the album "Straight Outta Compton" which began the era of gangster rap. On the album they reveal what life for them is like living in Compton and growing up surrounded by gangs, drugs, violence, racism, and police brutality. The album was highly controversial due to it's graphic content, ugly truths, and the "glorification of criminal activities". Run-D.M.C. (name of album and group) was released in 1984. This album paved the way for todays hip hop being the first rap album to go gold. The album was known for being rough around the edges but was incredibly catchy. Without Run-D.M.C. we would likely not have had artists such as Public Enemy, Roots, or Nas. Dark Side of the Moon was released by Pink Floyd in 1973. Though Pink Floyd had released a few concept records before this was their first major release which was a milestone for progressive rock. They caught the attention of people with their unsettling but truthful lyrics. Without them we wouldn't have had bands such as Radiohead, The Flaming Lips, or Muse. The Beastie Boys weren't the typical idea of a rap group but they became incredibly popular in 1986 when they dropped their album Licensed to Ill. Most of their music was older rock songs sampled with beats, most notably the song Fight For Your Right. They were loved for the party spirit and funny undertones in their songs. Public Enemy made a name for themselves in 1987 with the album It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back. When this album was released hip hop turned from a novelty genre to a legitimate art form. The music made statements of social injustice and paved the way for other rap groups to voice their perspective on the world and publicize the unfair treatment African Americans were receiving from the government, police, and ignorant people in general.
This album is called "Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band" by The Beatles. The album was released in 1967 and for obvious reasons is quite distinct. It has a very creative design but from it's creativity it becomes pretty jumbled up. This album is called "Dark Side of Moon" by the rock band Pink Floyd. The image is very famous and recognizable by the general population. The design is simple but strong because of great layout and the thought put into it. The Beastie Boys released this album called "Licensed to Ill" in 1986. The album was a clever parody of Led Zeppelins private jet. It is a classic design with good textures and has the comical message "3MTA3" (read backwards) which represents the fun loving nature of the group. In 2004 Green Day released the album "American Idiot". The idea for a hand grenade shaped like a heart came from the song "She's a Rebel". This is a good design because there is meaning behind the artwork and the layout looks good. The Gorillaz released the album "Demon Days" in 2004. This design well laid out layout and does a good job of showing the odd representations the band used for themselves.
